An Overview of Plant-Derived Drugs in Malaria Treatment

Treatment of severe malaria continues to rely on two plant derived drugs: artesunate and quinine. In this short overview, the use of effective antimalarial drug combinations against extremely mutable parasite Plasmodium falciparum is reviewed.
