Backboard assembly operating table (104) comprising: a first component table top (106); a receiver assembly (114) connected or integrally formed with the first component tabletop (106) comprising the receiver assembly (114) a first and a second wall (170, 168) spaced that define a central cavity therebetween, the first wall (170) an outer side surface and a projection (126) extending laterally from the outer side surface and defining the projection (126) a recess (124); a second component tabletop (108, 110); and a hook assembly (116) connected or integrally formed with the second component table top (108, 110), the assembly comprising hook (116) a hook (122) elongated connected or integrally formed with a housing ( 134), the hook (122) a tip portion (118), the housing (134) being configured to at least partially disposed within the central cavity of the receiver assembly (114), and the tip portion being configured (118) of the hook (122) to engage coinciding with the recess (124) defined by the projection (126) of the receiver assembly (114), wherein the housing (134) of the hook assembly (116) is arranged at least partially within the central cavity of the receiver assembly (114) when the first component tabletop (106) is coupled to the second component table top (108, 110), and meshing the tip portion (118) of the hook (122) of conju nto hook (116) coinciding with the recess (124) defined by the projection (126) of the receiver assembly (114) when the first component tabletop (106) is coupled to the second component table top (108, 110 ), wherein the hook assembly (116) further comprises a spring-loaded (144) movable between an extended position, wherein the spring-loaded (144) extends from a side surface of the housing (134) element and a retracted position where the spring-loaded (144) element is retracted within the housing (134), and one of the first and second (168, 170) of the receiver assembly (114) walls defining an opening (174) configured to receive a portion of the spring-loaded (144) member when the spring-loaded (144) element is in the extended position.
