Surface light-emission element using zinc oxide substrate

Provided is a surface light-emission element provided with: a substrate configured from an oriented polycrystalline zinc-oxide sintered body which is plate-shaped; a light-emission functional layer provided upon the substrate; and an electrode provided upon the light-emission functional layer. According to the present invention, a surface light-emission element exhibiting high light-emission efficiency can be provided at low cost.
