Neurological disorders are the third most common cause of disability and premature death in Europe and their prevalence and burden will likely increase with the progressive ageing of the European population (1). Almost one in three people worldwide has a neurological disorder at some point in their lifetime (2) with the most common neurological causes of disability being stroke, migraine, and Alzheimer's disease and other dementias (2).
