Introduction: As of changes in mental health care, with the advent of the Psychiatric Reform, the evaluation of services is growing and configuring it as a necessity in recent years. The construction of evaluative processes has fundamental importance in the context of mental health services. Objective: To evaluate the mental health care provided by the Center of Psychosocial Care (CPC) III in the city of Caico/RN, from the perspective of health professionals. Methods: Evaluative and quantitative study, developed with 13 professionals, between December 2011 and March 2012, through structured interviews. Data were organized in an electronic database and analyzed according to descriptive statistics. Results: Financial resources/ materials (100%) and human (69,2%) were evaluated negatively. The majority evaluated positively the physical area (61,5%) and service organization (61,5%). The quality of human resources was considered sufficient (53,8%) and a bad family participation (53.8%). Professionals feel able to provide assistance (76,9%) and acknowledge the need for permanent health education(100%). The health assistance was considered good (46.1%), with positive evaluation (61,6%) and job satisfaction (46,1%). Conclusion: It is believed that the results reflected positively in service management, critical reflection of the professionals surveyed and the going reform process. The challenges in the implementation and conduct of psychosocial care network, especially of the CPC, involving changes in mental health work process. In fact, it presents a new philosophy of everyday work, far from any resemblance to the asylum model.
