[Evidence-based review of preventive practice for osteoporosis].

: Preventive procedures for osteoporosis should aim to eliminate or reduce the risk of osteoporotic fractures later in life. It is important for this purpose to achieve greater peak bone mass during adolescence, to reduce postmenopausal bone loss, and to maintain bone mass and to prevent falls in the elderly. All the available evidences for this topic have been reviewed and evidence-based recommendations for the prevention of osteoporosis and osteoporotic fractures are presented.
