Prevalence Survey of Healthcare Associated Infections in Nanning 2010 year

Objective To evaluate the prevalence of healthcare associated infections(HAIs) in Nanning.Methods According to the unified survey method,Prevalence were surveyed in 29 hospitals in Nanning.Results A total of 8043 patients were surveyed and the actual investigatedrate was 99.39 %.156 patients with HAIs were detected,the prevalence was 1.94%.The top five HAIs were lower respiratory tract infection(44.23%),upper respiratory tract infection(20.51%),urinary t ract infection(13.46%),surgical site infection(8.97%) and Skin and soft tissue infection(4.49 %).Higher departments of prevalence were ICU(22.73%),Neurosurgery(13.48%),Urology(5.93%),Oncology(5.80%),Neurology(4.87%).Total 3843 patients(39.32 %) were using antimicrobial agents.Conclusions The most frequent HAIs in Nanning is lower respiratory infection,Management of key departments should be enhanced and targeted surveillance to lower respiratory tract infection.
