Effect of stage health education on disease management and quality of life in patients with uremic peritoneal dialysis

Objective To explore the effect of stage health education on disease management and quality of life in patients with uremic peritoneal dialysis. Methods A total of 120 patients with uremic peritoneal dialysis were divided into observation group (January 2015 to December 2016, n=60) and control group (January 2013 to December 2014, n= 60). The control group was applied with routine nursing intervention and observe group was applied with health education.The changes of disease management and quality of life of two groups were compared before and after intervention. Results The scores of diet management, exercise management, medication management, complication management and peritoneal dialysis management of observation group were higher than control group (P<0.05). The scores of physical symptoms, kidney disease, burden of kidney disease, work status, cognitive function, social quality, sexual function, sleep, patient satisfaction, social support, medical encouragement and total score of observation group were higher than control group (P<0.05). Conclusions Stages of health education can effectively improve the ability of disease management in patients with uremic peritoneal dialysis, thereby improving the quality of life of patients.
