Old masonry sewerage systems endeavour many patholog ies and require to be rehabilitated. Current rehabilitation techniques app ly to the whole internal surface of the conduct, involving high costs and a reduction of it s hydraulic capacity. Instead, the present study concerns the structural strengthening of maso nry sewers by carbon plates, intended as a local process of reinforcement. The paper reviews relevant experimental studies carried in many laboratories on FRP masonry strengthening, with a focus on vaults reinforcement.
