Secretion of cytokines in Helicobacter pylori-associated gastritis and clinical significance

2012
Objective To explore the secretion of TNF-α,IL-8 and hs-CRP in Helicobacter pylori-associated gastritis and clinical significance. Methods One hundred and ten patients with chronic superficial gastritis were divided into HP-positive group(n=58) and HP-negative group(n=52).Serum TNF-α,IL-8 and hs-CRP levels between two groups and their pre-and post-treatment levels in HP-positive group were compared. Results The levels of TNF-α,IL-8 and hs-CRP in HP-positive group were higher than those in HP-negative group(P0.01).TNF-α,IL-8 and hs-CRP levels in active gastritis were higher than the patients without active gastritis(P0.01) in HP-positive group.Serum TNF-α,IL-8 and hs-CRP levels were decreased after treatment in HP-positive group(P0.01).Conclusion Enhanced levels of TNF-α,IL-8 and hs-CRP have a close relationship with HP infection of gastric mucosa, and can be prognostic indexes for active gastritis and treatment effect.
