Ammonia Production from Hippurate by the Rat Kidney in vitro

Hippurate is known to be synthesized from benzoate and glycine in the liver and kidney. It takes part in renal ammoniagenesis by modulating the activity of γ-glutamyl transpeptidase (γGT). Due to its
