Our study demonstrated the feasibility of using blood oxygen level–dependent MR imaging to quantify the magnitude of renal hypoxia after myocardial infarctions of different sizes in the context of multifactorial cardiorenal syndrome and revealed that renal hypoxia could potentially lead to tubulointerstitial injury in disease progression.
