Clinical effect of early fresh amniotic membrane transplantation in refractory corneal ulcer

Objective:To evaluate the therapeutic effect of amniotic membrane transplantation(AMT) in refractory corneal ulcer.Methods: After debriding of patients' cornea focus,explant the well prepared fresh amniotic.Fresh amniotic was performed in 25 patients(25 eyes) of refractory corneal ulcer,we followed up for 3～36 months after operation.Results:No actual rejection was observed in all 25 corneal ulcer patients,the infection were effectively controlled after surgery.Corneal ulcer epithelium healed overall in 3 to 4 weeks,varying degrees of scar was left on corneal ulcer area.Corneal ulcer patients' vision were all improved in various degree,recur of corneal ulcer was out of observe,corneal perforation was unobserved either.Conclusion:Fresh AMT is a very effective method for treatment to refractory corneal ulcer.
