The Nutrient Supplement-Enhanced Celiac Angiogram

1971
A high-calorie nutrient supplement was administered orally prior to celiac angiography in 47 patients. A comparison of pre-and postprandial angiograms was made in 15. The rest of the patients were compared with another group who received nothing orally prior to arteriography. An increased number of patients demonstrated good to excellent opacification of the gastric wall and gastroepiploic vein after the meal. Demonstration of the right gastric artery occurred more often, and there was an increase in vessel diameter in some cases.
