Allowable stresses to limit shearing deformation in reinforced concrete containment design

1984
Abstract An extensive program of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) to study reinforced concrete containment wall behavior has been completed for orthogonal reinforcement. The transfer of shear caused by the action of seismic load has been studied sufficiently to recommend the seismic shear design and allowable shear stresses. However, the recommendations made in this paper are not the NRC position for the design.
