Mast cell proliferation and activation in disease processes

2012
: Mast cells are well known as pivotal players in the development of allergic diseases. Their most acknowledged mechanism of activation is cross-bridging of the IgE receptor. However, in recent years, the complex structure and function of these cells have been recognized as well as their diverse pathophysiological contributions.
