Curative effects of ganglioside combined with batroxobin in treatment of acute progressive cerebral infarction

2008
AIM To evaluate the curative effects of monosialotetrahexosylganglioside(GM1)sodium injection(ganglioside)combined with batroxobin in treatment of acute progressive cerebral infarcion(APCI). METHODS Eighty APCI patients were divided randomly and equally into two groups with 40 in each group. Combined treatment group was treated with ganglioside 100 mg iv,gtt,qd for 14 days;as well as batroxobin iv,gtt,on 1st(10 BU),3rd(5 BU),5th day(5 BU),7th day(5 BU).Control group was treated with batroxobin only, the same splitting dosages as those in combined treatment group.Chinese Stroke Scale(CSS)、modified Rankin Scale(mRS)and blood clotting index were taken before and after the treatment in both groups. RESULTS There was significant difference of clinical efficacy between the two groups(P0.05).The total effective rate of combined treatment group(92%)was obviously higher than that of control group(68%) (P0.05).The plasma fibrinogen levels in both groups decreased significantly after the treatment(both P0.05).No significant difference was found in platelets counting, activated partial thrombinplastin time, prothrombin time and thrombin time before and after the treatment in both groups.CONCLUSION GM1 combined with batroxobin in remarkably effective in the treatment of APCI without obvious adverse reactions.
