Electrospun three-dimensional V4Nb18O55 nanofibers for advanced lithium uptake

V4Nb18O55 nanofibers are built via a homemade electrospinning route and applied as anode host for possible lithium uptake in rechargeable batteries. The as-received V4Nb18O55 products are porous nanofibers with three-dimensional framework built from ultrafine nanoparticles. Contributed to the specific hierarchical structure, V4Nb18O55 nanofibers release the lithium uptake capacity of 221 mAh g-1, which is much higher than the widely reported Li4Ti5O12. Besides, it also reveals outstanding rate property for high power secondary batteries with a specific uptake capacity of 107 mAh g-1 at 8C.
