The value of serum Cyclophilin A, tumor necrosis factor α and C-reactive protein for prediction of the different stages of chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases

2017
Objective To study the value of the serum Cyclophilin A and tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α) and C-reactive protein (CRP) levels for prediction of different stages of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD). Methods Total of 108 cases with COPD in the Second People’s Hospital of Lianyungang, Jiangshu in January 2014 to February 2015 as were collected. Among them, 45 outpatients in stable stage served as the control group, and 63 cases of acute exacerbation period were assigned as the observation group. The levels of serum CyPA, TNF-α, CRP and pulmonary function were detected. The t test was used between the two groups. Results The levels of serum CyPA, TNF-α and CRP in patients with acute exacerbation were (2.45±0.56) ng/ml, (28.32±4.87) ng/L and (59.53±8.46) mg/l, while in the control group were (1.61±0.56) ng/ml, (12.23±2.01) ng/L and (11.76±1.42) mg/l. FEV1% of patients with acute exacerbation was (33.52±6.86), the control group was (51.35±7.68), the difference was significant (t=10.3516, 15.3247, 11.2057, and 8.2518, P < 0.05). Patients in acute exacerbation stage had FEV1% increased to (45.67±10.37)%, which was significantly improved compared with before the treatment (t=9.254, P < 0.05). The serum levels of CyPA ,TNF-α and CRP were (1.32±0.36) ng/ml, (14.58±4.03) ng/L and (10.15±1.63) g/dl, which were significantly decreased compared with before treatment (t=12.143, 13.568, and 12.326; P < 0.05). Conclusion The detection of the levels of serum CyPA, TNF-α and CRP were valuable to determine the severity of COPD and pulmonary function damage.
