Response of different sources of Nitrogen and Potassium on Kharif onion (Allium cepa L.) var. Arka Kalyan

2015
The authors studied the effect of nitrogen and potassium sources on kharif onion (Allium cepa L.) var. Arka Kalyan. The superiority of morphological characters like plant height, number of leaves, neck thickness, leaf area, chlorophyll content, dry matter and nutrient uptake were due to sulphate of potash and ammonium sulphate. Among various interaction effects, the highest uptake of nitrogen and potassium were due to interaction of sulphate of potash and ammonium sulphate. Similarly polar diameter, equatorial diameter, fresh bulb weight, rings per bulb, bulb yield were significantly maximum due to application of sulphate of potash and ammonium sulphate than other sources of potassium and nitrogen.
