PRIMARY AND LATE RESULTS OF OPEN CORRECTION OF FALLOT'S DISEASE

2009
During the period 1959–1966 total correction was performed on 56 consecutive cases of Fallot's anomaly. Acyanotic cases were not included. The primary mortality was 30%. Factors involving increased risk at operation are, among others, severe cyanosis, age at operation less than five years, and supravalvular changes of the pulmonary artery. The post-operative follow-up examination showed a definite improvement in the surviving cases.
