Impact of Chronic Kidney Disease and Anemia on Outcomes Following Percutaneous Coronary Revascularization

ABSTRACT Few studies have evaluated outcomes following percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) in patients with both anemia (hemoglobin 2 ). Patients with coronary artery disease (CAD) who underwent PCI in our health system from 2010-2018 were included (n=10,756), excluding those with ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) or shock. We evaluated the individual and combined effects of anemia and CKD on outcomes. Five-year mortality was highest in the cohort with both anemia and CKD and lowest among those with neither.
