Clinical use of early no-invasive detection of atherosclerosis

2011
Objective: To investigate the possibility of decreasing the occurrences of atherosclerosis and its related diseases with the diagnosis and treatment under the guide of early no-invasive detection of atherosclerosis. Methods: 230 hypertension patients without other diseases were divided into control group(n=80) and observation group(n=150).baPWV,ABI and ordinary physical examination were carried out in all patients.Patients in observation group were treated individually under the guide of baPWV and ABI analysis, while patients in control group were given ordinary treatment. Results: The treatment rate and hypertension control rate in observation group were higher than those in control group(49.3% vs 41.3%,9.63% vs 5.99%),after 12 months of treatment,baPWV in observation group was lower than that in control group [(13.94±5.66)m/s vs(16.12±6.36)m/s],the occurrence rate of atherosclerosis and its related diseases in observation group was lower than that in the control group[10.6% vs 17.5%],and there were significant differences between them(all P0.05).Conclusion: Clinical use of no-invasive detection of early atherosclerosis as a guide of diagnosis and treatment can raise the rate of treatment and control, improve baPWV and ABI,and dramatically decrease the occurrence rate of cardiovascular events.
