Study of Transverse Seismic Performance of Rigid-Frame Bridge Using Cable Sliding Friction Aseismic Bearings

2014
To have an understanding of the influences of the cable sliding friction aseismic bearings on the transverse seismic performance of rigid-frame bridge, aprestressed concrete continuous rigid-frame bridge using the bearings and having span arrangement(65+120+65)m was taken as an example and the influences of the bearings were studied. In view of the seismic mechanism of the bearings, the software MIDAS Civil(V8.0.5)was used to set up the model, the nonlinear dynamic time-history method was used to analyze the transverse seismic response of the example bridge and the influences of the parameters(initial gaps and cable rigidity)of the bearings on the seismic performance of the bridge were compared. The results of the study indicate that the bearings can effectively reduce the transverse forces of the transition piers of the bridge and at the same time can effectively control the movement modes of the main girder of the bridge. The influences of the bearings on the seismic performance of the main piers of the bridge are little, the smaller the initial gaps are,the greater the cable rigidity is,the greater the constraint action of the bearings on the main girder will be.
