Epidemiology and molecular pathogenesis of tumors of the oral cavity and pharynx

: Tumors of the oral cavity and pharynx make up the majority of so-called tumors of the head and neck and represent a heterogeneous group of tumors of different origin. Since 90% of these tumors are squamous cell carcinomas of the mucosa, literature often refers to this position.
