Primary hepatic steatosis as a metabolic change in early diabetes

1966
In early stages of diabetes in elderly subjects the primary hepatic steatosis of dismetabolic origin is connected in 65–70 % with the excess of body weight. Its remark is more frequent than it clinically appears. The hepatic steatosis might be considered as a pathologic manifestation of the lipogenic insulin effect on liver. The primary hepatic steatosis of dismetabolic origin might precede the stage of asymptomatic diabetes, as metabolic change of early diabetes.
