Study on Tang's acupuncture in scalp and movement therapy to impact the activities of daily living for the patients of stroke with hemiplegia

Objective To analyze movement therapy and the Tang,s acupuncture in scalp affects on the activities of daily living(ADL) for the patients of stroke with hemiplegia.Methods 72 patients were divided into 2 groups: the treatment group on the base of drug had regular movement therapy and the Tang's acupuncture in scalp,the control group only had movement therapy.The ADL was assessed by modified Barthel index(MBI).The patients were again followed after 2 courses,12 weeks.Results The two scores after therapy were gradually increased than before therapy.It is not statistically significant(P=0.0198)in scores of MBI between the treatment group and control group after 2 courses,the evaluation of ADL by MBI showed better scores than control group(P0.05) after 12 weeks.Conclusion Movement therapy and the Tang's acupuncture in scalp may improve the ADL of stroke with hemiplegia.
