Diagnostic Imaging for Veins
2018
This chapter describes imaging for venous diagnosis. The main modality is duplex ultrasound, which is the first line test for acute deep venous thrombosis in lower and upper extremities, primary and postthrombotic chronic venous disease, and venous compression syndrome. The role of other imaging modalities, such as venography, computed tomographic venography, and magnetic resonance venography is described as they are indicated in specific clinical situations.
