PROMOTING ENGINEERING EDUCATION: THE BREMEN APPROACH

This paper presents a selection of marketing activities of the University of Bremen in the present academic year. The aim was to interest prospective students for studying an engineering course to set up a long-term method to reduce the lack of qualified graduates. Therefore this paper describes on the one hand a complex cinema advertising campaign which is with regard to its scope the first in Germany. Pupils and public should be attended by a broad offer for information in the internet as well as in face to face contacts. On the other hand, an unexceptional enrichment of student’s curriculum by a student’s project is described. This project was also used for promoting the study course itself and the mentoring department of the University of Bremen.
