Separation Control of a Thin Airfoil by Projectile Vortex-Rings

Generally, thin airfoils in turbomachinery are not thick enough to install a device for controlling separation [1],[2],[3]. Our proposal for resolving this difficulty is to add rich momentum to the separation region through the separated shear layer from the outside flow region, away from the airfoil, by vortex rings.
