Lactose malabsorption and bone mineral content.

2009
Bone mineral has been measured by the Am-241 gamma ray attenuation method in 12 men and 22 women with lactose malabsorption and in 17 men and 17 women with normal lactose absorption, and compared with previously established normal values. Although lactose malabsorption led to reduced milk consumption and calcium intake, it did not cause osteoporosis.
