Case 6-1993: A 69-Year-Old Woman with a Sclerotic Lesion of the Femur and Pulmonary Nodules

Presentation of Case A 69-year-old woman was admitted to the hospital because of pain in the right thigh and fever. The patient was in good health until approximately one week earlier, when urinary frequency developed and a potential urinary tract infection was treated with cefoperazone; a urine culture yielded Escherichia coli. Five days before admission continuous pain developed in the distal right thigh and knee.
