PROPIEDADES MECÁNICAS Y RESISTENCIA DE AORTAS ASCENDENTES PATOLÓGICAS

2011
Marfan syndrome is a genetic disease of the connective tissue. This syndrome affects some systems, including the cardiovascular and the skeletal muscle. In blood vessel, the disease makes the aortic wall to become weak and to dilate. It may cause, after some time, a perforation in the aortic wall. In order to improve the knowledge of arterial response, this work studies the mechanical behaviour and rupture conditions of ascending aorta from patients with Marfan syndrome comparing them with those of healthy blood vessels.
