Observation of 3-DCRT combined with morphine in treatment with severe cancer pain caused by retroperitoneal tumors

Objective To investigate the efficacy of 3-DCRT combined with morphine in treatment of severe cancer pain caused by retroperitoneal tumors.Methods Thirty-eight patients with retroperitoneal tumors were treated with 3DCRT 2.5-3.5 Gy/fraction,with a total dose of 42-49Gy,and morphine.The changes of cancer pain and drug dose were observed.Results Cancer pain was relieved and drug dose was reduced after treatment.VAS score before treatment was significandy higher than that after treatment with 3- DCRT and morphine (P0.01).Constipation,nausea,vomiting were main side effects.Conclusion Canc- er pain can be relieved and drug dose can be reduced after treatment with 3-DCRT combined with morphine. The therapeutic efficacy is good.
