Analysis of pediatric outpatient antibiotic prescriptions

Objective To understand the utilization of antibiotics in pediatric patients and to provide reference for clinical rational drug use.Methods A total of 10 156 pediatric outpatient prescriptions in September 2010 were sampled.The number of drug categories,application frequency,combination and irrational use of drugs were used for statistical analysis.Results Among 4 552 prescriptions of antimicrobial drugs,17 kinds of antimicrobial drugs were used in frequency of cephalosporins(63.18%),penicillins(19.75%),macrolides(7.89%),aminoglycosides(0.22%),β-lactamase inhibitors(4.53%) and other antibacterial antibiotics(4.44%).Irrational drug use mainly in the improper usage,pharmacological antagonism,repeated dosing and efficacy weakened.Conclusion The application frequency of antibacterials was basically rational,there is still need to strengthen the management of antimicrobial drug use,and to improve the level of rational drug use further.
