Évaluation des paramètres du stress oxydant chez des patients coronariens

2013
Summary Objective The present study was undertaken to evaluate the variation of the parameters of antioxidant and oxidant status in coronary patients. Patients and methods Two hundred and eighteen patients with unstable angina (UA) and 183 healthy control subjects were admitted. Oxidant status was evaluated by measuring homocysteine and thiobarbituric reactive oxygen substances (TROS). Antioxidant status was evaluated by measuring superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity and glutathione peroxidase (GPx). Results Homocysteine (Hcy) and thiobarbituric acid reactive substances (TROS) levels were significantly higher in coronary patients compared with healthy control subjects. SOD and GPX were significantly decreased among patients compared to the controls. In addition, coronary patients showed significant negatives correlations between Hcy–SOD, Hcy–GPx and TBARS–SOD, TBARS–GPx. Conclusion Our patients present an increasing oxidative stress but the defences antioxidants tended to be decreased.
