Terahertz Imaging Based on Sparse MIMO Array

2020
Traditional terahertz (THz) imaging systems based on scanning mechanism is inefficient, which greatly limits the application of industrial scenarios. To accelerate data collection and achieve real-time imaging, an all-electronic THz imaging system based sparse multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) array has been developed to achieve target imaging in millimeter-scale resolution. The sweep bandwidth of the system ranges from 220GHz to 325GHz, which guarantees the range resolution. A wide array is designed for realizing high cross-range imaging resolution. The THz images are reconstructed by the back-projection algorithm after the multi-channel error calibration. Finally, the experimental results verify the imaging resolution of the system.
