Discussions about Concept of Kidney Deficiency and Relevant Literature in Huangdi Neijing

Huangdi Neijing is the earliest medical literature on kidney depletion. The definition of kidney deficiency in Huangdi Neijing is different from that in contemporary traditional Chinese medicine(TCM). The concept of kidney deficiency in Huangdi Neijing did not cover kidney yang and kidney yin. Though the understanding of natural kidney depletion was well accepted and reserved by later medical literature,the contemporary TCM does not adopt the description of pathological symptoms of kidney deficiency in Huangdi Neijing. The research of the literatures about kidney deficiency in Huangdi Neijing is important to the historical research of kidney.
