Single-Agent Therapy in Hyper- tension. Arterial hypertension is one of the main cardiovascular risk factors. Therapeutical con- cepts include lifestyle management and antihy- pertensive medication. Treatment can be started both as single-agent or two-drug therapy. Advan- tages of a single-agent therapy are a slow well tolerable blood pressure reduction and an easy detection of side effects. With an individualized selection of the antihypertensive agent and do- sage times, a 24-hour blood pressure reduction can be reached. J Hypertonie 2015; 19 (1): 6-8.
