The Significance of Expression of P53,nm23 and CD34 in the Diagnosis and Prognosis of Hepatocellular Carcinoma

2005
Objective To explore the significance of expre ssion of P53,nm23and CD34in the diag nosis and prognosis of hepatocellular carcin oma. Methods Immunohistochemical technique was adopted to detect the expression levels of p53,nm23and CD34in 50cases of HCC.The prognosis was analyzed accordi ng to the clinicopathological featu re indexes, which living time less than12months is considered as poor prognosis, more than12months as goodprognosis,an d used 55cases of non-neoplastic liver tissue and ben ign lesions as inner contrast. Results The expression of P53,CD34was higher in the HCC group than in the inner group, and their expression was associated with portal vein embolus(P0.05).The expression of nm23was higher in the non-neoplastic liver tissue than in the HCC group,a nd nm23was associated with prognosis and prominent peritumoral lymphocytic infiltration(P0.05).Combined analysis revealed that P53(+),CD34(+),nm23(-)groups had a poor prognosis than the o thers. Conclusions Detection of P53,nm23and CD34may be very useful to HCC diagnosis and prognosis. And the ove r expression of P53,CD34are considered acceptable as the parameters in p redicting of poor prognosis in HCC.
