Newborn with a Large Exophytic Mass on the Head

A term newborn presents with a large exophytic lesion on the vertex of his head observed immediately after birth (Fig 1). Figure 1. Cerebriform mass on vertex of head. ### Prenatal and Birth Histories Initial postnatal examination revealed a 4.3 × 4.5 × 1 cm firm, flesh-colored cerebriform mass on the vertex of the infant’s head (Fig 1). The mass had a wide, pedunculated base, and its extension into the skull could not be determined. Two red spherical polyps were seen at the periphery of the mass. ### Physical Examination
