The Study with Enhanced CT Measurement of Relationship between Renal Cortex Thickness and Split Renal Function during the Renal Cortical Phase

2013
Objective To study the relationship between renal cortex on CT scanning and enhancement scanning and split renal function of renal cortical phase. Methods 126 patients who undergone CT scan were about 58 cases of renal tumors and 68 cases of obstructive hydronephrosis.GFR which was detected by SPECT after CT scan was used as the reference of split renal function.According to GFR,the 229 kidneys were divided into 3 groups Lsnormal renal function(113 case,GFR≥34 ml/min),slightly impaired(71 cases,20ml/min≤GFR34 ml/min) and severely impaired(45 cases,GFR20ml/min).The differences of these measures in different groups were analyzed with one-way ANOVA and their correlation with GFR was studied with Pearson test. Results In the cortical thickness among 3 groups, there were significant differences. The cortical thicknesses were(0.59±0.13) cm,(0.43±0.09) cm and(0.24±0.08) cm,respectively(P0.01).The renal cortical thickness was strongly correlated with GFR(r=0.816,P0.05)L There were significant differences in the enhancement during the cortical phase among the 3 groups.Which were(164.3±24.2) HU,(117.8±22.1) HU and(64.2±20.9) HU,respectively(P0.01).The enhancement during the cortical phase was strongly correlated with the GFR(r=0.86 1,P0.05).Conclusions The renal cortical thickness and the enhancement during the cortical phase can be taken as a semi-quantitative method of split renal function measuring with relative low X-ray dosage compared with CT perfusion.
