TELEDENTISTRY: AN OVERVIEW

“Teledentistry” is a synergistic combination of tel ecommunications technology, internet and dental practice. Teledentistry increased patient access to dental ca re, improved quality of care and the cost effective ness. Telemedicine is transferring medical data between g eographically separated areas. Teledentistry has th e potential to be a highly effective mechanism for en hancing early diagnosis and to be used in dental ed ucation. Teledentistry has the potential to meet these needs by just logging into the side on interest and gett ing relief immediately. Teledentistry approaches may hold the potential to address many of the problems related t o access, cost, efficiency, and the quality of dental care.
