Features in spiral CT of GIST and the judgment of nature

Objective To discuss the sign of gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST) in spiral CT and to judge its character. Methods To review analyse GIST 63 cases ,all make spiral CT plain and enhancement scanning, and have immunity histochemistry confirmation. Results The tumors were more in the stomach (53/63), the stomach body (n = 27) and the fundus (n = 20). There were 26 cases' diameter smaller than 5 cm, shape regular;34 cases' diameter bigger than 5 cm, the shape was irregular, the density was much non - uniform (n =31), in the most cavities/outside grows (n = 15) or outside the cavity grows (n = 13). The CT enhancement performance, assumes the non - uniform strengthening most (n = 44) and the obvious strengthening (n = 47). GIST's size, shape and strengthened way were correlation with benign or malignant (P 0. 05). GIST's shape, growth way, necrosis and strengthened way and size correlation (P < 0.05). Conclusion Spiral CT may examine the GIST benign or malignant, has the important value in regarding the clinical early diagnosis.
