A Case of Iatrogenic Choledochocolic Fistula with Malabsorption

AbstractA case of choledochocolic fistula, unintentionally created by surgery, with no communication between the biliary tract and the intestine proximal to the anastomosis at the hepatic flexure of the colon was studied before and after surgical correction. The patient was almost symptomfree, without diarrhea, but a metabolic study showed severe malabsorption of fat and vitamin K. The malabsorption was completely abolished by corrective surgery.
