Pharmaceutical composition for prevention and treatment of disease caused by abnormality of immune system comprising old platycodon extracts stimulating activation of macrophages to increase formation of various immune-related cytokines

PURPOSE: A pharmaceutical composition comprising old platycodon extracts is provided, which old platycodon extract stimulates activation of macrophages to increase formation of various immune-related cytokines, so that the pharmaceutical composition is useful for prevention and treatment of disease caused by abnormality of immune system such as cancer, diabetes, dementia and asthma. CONSTITUTION: The pharmaceutical composition for prevention and treatment of disease caused by abnormality of immune system comprises old platycodon extracts and pharmaceutically acceptable carriers, wherein the old platycodon extract is prepared by adding distilled water into old platycodon powder, heating them at 90 to 95 deg. C for 5 hours twice, filtering the hot water extract of old platycodon, and freeze-drying the filtered solution.
