A Special Timber Arch Bridge

There is a timber bridge, named Pu Qing Bridge which is elegant in structure and formation, constructed in the town of Jinze, Qingpu County of Shanghai. This bridge is originated form a timber arch bridge called Rainbow Bridge on the Bian Shui River, which appears in the famous Song painting "River Side Scene at the Qingming Festival" by Zhang Zeduan. This article introduces the structure feature in single arch timber structure of combined beam arch bridges, analysis of the force capacity and the construction method of non falsework, attaining the aim of making the past serve the present.
