Effects of Different Nitrogen Application Rates on The Yield, Leaf Total Nitrogen and Water Content of Paspalum notatum Flügge

2005
A study of the dynamic change of nitrogen application on the yield, leaf total nitrogen and water content of Paspalum notatum Flugge and their quantitative relations shows that the maximum percentage of increasable yield of P. notatum Flugge reaches 342.16% with nitrogen application of 450 kg/hm~2. Nitrogen fertilizer of 90 kg/hm~2 is an optimal application to the yield which reaches 79.9 kg for each kilogram of nitrogen employed. Though the leaf total nitrogen content increases correspondingly with increased nitrogen application up to 360 kg/hm~2,the increase is not apparent when the application tops 360 kg/hm~2, and then the leaf total nitrogen content saturates. When nitrogen application reaches 450 kg/hm~2, the leaf water content rises to the highest point of 69.5%. Nitrogen application rates affect the P. notatum Flugge yield, leaf total nitrogen and water content significantly.
