Risk factors for death for males and females. A study of the death pattern in the Stockholm prospective study.

2009
Causes of death for 531 males and 163 females dying over a 14.5-year period in Stockholm Sweden are analyzed. Data are from the Stockholm Prospective Study which involves the continuous monitoring of 6244 persons who initially attended a health control center in Stockholm in 1961-1962. Deaths are divided into three categories: ischemic neoplastic and other. Factors affecting mortality in the three categories are analyzed with attention to smoking blood pressure triglycerides and erythrocyte sedimentation rates. (ANNOTATION)
