Mechanism and Effects of Glucose Absorption during an Oral Glucose Tolerance Test Among Females and Males

Compared to body mass index- and age-matched males, healthy females show higher glucose levels at the end of the oral glucose tolerance test, most likely because of prolonged gut absorption.
